I met with my alumni friends yesterday - Hanna (our class valedictorian) and her husband, Khaireez (an alumni), who are now residing in Perth, Australia with their two kids. They were here for a couple of weeks for a year end vacation, and will be going back to Perth on January 8.
Che Pah hosted a potluck tea party for our little reunion at her house in Shah Alam. At the party, I also met with Shem (and wife, Nina), Badul, Che Mer, Kiyai and Zura. All of us went to State University of New York at Buffalo twinning program under MARA Institute of Technology and Malaysian Public Service Department scholarship program together. After that, we all went to different universities around the USA. That's like between 1988 and 1993! Yeah, yeah, yeah...we're old now :)
Everyone either expanded in body mass or spotted wrinkles, me included. But Khaireez is exactly the same as he was back then. I told him, "I don't like you, you don't age at all!" to which he laughed, and from his ear-to-ear grin, I bet he felt terribly flattered. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I was envious. Won't you?
Nonetheless, it just feels great to meet my old friends. They say, the older you get, the more you seek your old friends. I feel some truth in that saying.

Assalamualaikum my dearest Nel,
Yup, I know, this apology is long overdue (let's see, 11 days, to be precise). Anyway, am sorry (again?) for not making it to the meeting. Reason? Do you really wanna hear one? hehehe. Well...my sister and her family from Florida are back in town, and I have been spending some "what little" quality time I spare with my young nephews. In fact, am gonna be on leave for the next 10 days, will be taking them to Langkawi for a short vacation. Insyaallah, will be back the following Monday Jan 31st. Hey, maybe we can catch up with each other and Yankee Eli on FT holiday (Tues Feb 1).
Until I hear from you, take good care of yourself girl. Don't work too hard. And keep up that captivating cheery smile :)
Eid Mubarak to you & family, and have a pleasant holiday weekend ya!
Wassalam & cheerio :)
